First amateur radio activation 22 August 2010 by MSØNFC Na Fir Chlis ARC
Its a two hour+ walk/hike from Lochskipport to the lighthouse, most of it over some extremely rough terrain.
Contacts were made with other amateur radio stations in Scotland and the following countries - Austria, Belgium Finland, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Russia, Slovenia and Sweden.

The amateur radio club station MSØNFC was active using the special event call sign GB9UL .. again basic low power equipment used by the team .. Yaesu FT-817 on 20m CW .. FX-9A used on 40m SSB along with simple wire antennas

The transceivers are the rugged MFJ 9420, Yaesu FT-817 & FX-9A .. all powered by gell cell batteries, antennas are homemade fishing pole vertical or dipoles.
